This was a long travel day as we left Mesa Verde in the southwest corner of Colorado and heading up to Page, AZ in the northwest corner of AZ. This post is mainly pictures that show how radically the geography changes along the way. It was a fascinating and never boring trip!
| The mountains that surround the cities just north of Mesa Verde. Can you imagine waking up to this view every day? |
| Mother Nature at work. |
| Colorado is now in our rear view mirror! |
| Something that surprised me is how cities and regions use the mountain to label their area. Jack tells us that a lot of times, it is a community tradition for seniors to do this. |
| The colors are beginning to warm up with more and more reds and stratification of color. |
| One of my favorite formations of the day's trip. Just think, this is just along the side of the road, not in a National Park. |
| More of God's handiwork. |

| Getting close to Page, AZ |
Here we go again, P is for Page.
| This is a glimpse of Powell Lake, in Page AZ. The entire city wraps around the Glen Canyon Dam and is built into the rocky terrain. |
| The lake is quite huge and there are lots of marina businesses here in the middle of the desert area, due to recreation provided at the lake. |
| A view of the lake from the north side of town. |
| One of the views as you enter the city of Page. |
| Our campground was right in town, just down from the Fire Department. Note that the campground goes right up to the edge of the rocky hills. |
| We quickly settled into the park and headed straight out for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon! |
