St. Andrews State Park - Day 2-3

Our favorite rendezvous destination for visiting with Andy, Kaitlyn and Logan
Well, we hit the ground running as soon as we reached Panama City Beach and parked our camper out at one of our favorite state parks, St. Andrews. Our site was MUCH easier to get into than the one we had last year, although I am a tad disappointed that the shrubbery blocks more of the waterview than expected. The gentle breeze, sites and sounds of the birds and mild temperatures have managed to make up for this to some extent.

Once we got set up, we quickly greeted Betty Lou and Randy. They arrived shortly after we did and are parked right across the street. Then we climbed back in the truck to head to Southport to pick up the grandkids. We brought them back to spend the night and Tuesday with us. The six of us enjoyed a relaxing day that included a trip to a very breezy beach and a great cookout before taking the kids back to Southport.

Two hammock engineers, working together.
Randy and Betty Lou just chillin' and watching the birds.

On the way to the restrooms, I found this fella wandering through the campsites.

Then he headed right to our site.

The view from one of our preferred sites.
Yes, we walked around and marked them on the map for future bookings.
I hate to admit it, but we have done this at least twice before,
but somehow never find the map when needed.

One of the majestic birds we spotted on our walk.

This osprey was in the tree right behind our campsite.

Beautiful day on the beach but very breezy with a chill in the air.
Kaitlyn and Logan enjoying the sandy beach, if not the water.

Trusting brother.

The standard arms length photo.

Paradise - reading a great book, in the hammock, on the water,
with the birds, with no responsibilities, for as long as I wanted.

Richard, catching up on his emails, after a two day hiatus.

  1. If it wasn't for having to empty tanks on the RV, that looks like a place you could stay for a LONG time :D

  2. Maybe you could designate a drawer or cabinet in the RV to put maps of campgrounds. Then, your favorite spots for camping are in the RV. Looks like a wonderfully relaxing place!
