Westward Bound: Day Five, Friday, May 10

Westward Bound: Day Five
Just another day in paradise. The weather is still wonderful so we are trying to enjoy it before the predicted rains come on Saturday.

Before the Reid's packed up to leave, we got in one more biking exploration.
First stop Buttonbush Marsh to check out the wading birds..
It was fascinating to watch this bird as he preened his feathers.
Richard was startled by an overly friendly squirrel.
I nicknamed this fella "Squiggy". He was not scared of anything or anybody!

As we left, Squiggy followed Richard (much to his chagrin) all the way down the boardwalk.

Next stop - Gator Lake

I spent most of the time here observing this heron. It stayed in one position
for at least  five minutes before it moved even one muscle. Amazing.
Our third stop was the boat launch and pier where we found this beauty.
Bettylou and Randy all loaded up and ready to leave. It was fun having them as neighbors for the week!

Our resident osprey watched over me as I had the pleasure of  reading in my hammock
for a few hours as I waited for our weekend company to arrive. Ahhhhhh.

Don't ask me why, but we have NO pictures of when first Bob, Paula and Gracie finally arrived nor when Richard returned from picking up Logan. Perhaps it was because we were all laughing and having such a good time?  Or was it because we have a crowd that ducks having their picture taken? Hmmmm.
Before we grilled out, we took everyone for a tour of the park.
Bob spotted these deer along the side of the road.

Baby Gator in the swampy area along the road.

After supper Richard introduced Bob and Logan to "Oh Pshaw!"
They played and laughed and hee-hawed til about 12:30pm.
Poor host that he is, Richard stomped them into the ground.
